Guinea is a beautiful country: plant diversity with 4 natural zones::
Region of maritime Guinea - tropical and humid coast with palm and coconut trees
Mountain region of Fouta Djalon (1200 m) with pine forests and banana trees. We also find tomatoes, strawberries and potatoes.
The Haute Huinea- a dry plateau (200m-400m) with bushes, savannah and enormous manguo trees. We also find some nérés, karités and kapotiers..
The forest region of Guinea, composed of a virgin forest where merges the Mont Nimba (1750 m). We also find cacao and coffee, héveas and pepper.
Guinea is a rich country

Les languages
In Guinea, you will find many cultures. However, while the French language is used predominantly in the administration, the English language is used more frequently since the arrival of the refugees.

In addition, they speak Peul (35% of the population), Malinke (30%) or Sousou (11%). In the forest region of Guinea, many different dialects are spoken (20%) including the Toma, the Kissi, the Kono, the Mano and the Guerzé.

Many artists and musicians from the Malinke culture are known world wide for their music (Salif Keita, Mory Kanté, Oumou, Rokia Trahore, Amadou & Mariam) or for their literature such as Camara Laye and Fodeba Keita.

Natural resources:
Guinea exports more Bauxite than any other country. This country has a soil rich in gold and diamonds. Notwithstanding this fact, according to the PNUD, Guinea is classified as the 160th poorest nation in the world, out of 177 countries considered.

Religion: Within its population of 10 million habitants, 69 % are muslim, 30% animists and 1% Christian.

The official languageis French. However three major ethnic groups speak their own language: the Peuls (35%), the Malinké (30%) and the Sousou (11%)..

ife Expectancy:
The average life expectancy is 44.5 years. As well, 77% of the population is illiterate.

Sedentarity: The Peul ethnie in Fouta Djalon is composed from nomad people with cows, and the Malinke ethnie is in general sedentary.
