Advanced Secondary School
Building the advanced secondary school began in 2016. The six classrooms for classes 11 to 13 have now been completed and will be opened for use in October 2017.

2016 Application to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
BMZ: 82000 € SEZ (Foundation for Development and Cooperation): 10000 € Our association, together with the APE 4000 €;
Total 96800 € for the purchase of all school books for the secondary school, for the completion of the school cafeteria, and for the building of the advanced secondary school.

Motivation for the construction of the advanced secondary school
In Kankan (at the foot of the map) there are three advanced secondary schools that have exceeded their capacity. Consequently, students from outlying areas fail to get a place, or cannot travel the distance (up to 100km) to visit a school. In 2016, the association placed an application with the BMZ to build an advanced secondary school in Fodécariah.

Fodécariah is strategically located
As you can see on the left of the map, Fodécariah lies between the settlements of Djellabo Koro and Baté Nahadji, and as such, is able to serve students from both locations.
As of October 2017, 300 students will be able to attend our advanced secondary school.
Students who complete their studies at the normal secondary school in 2017 will be able to continue their schooling seamlessly at the advanced secondary school. Many of the 2016 school leavers also want to go to the advanced secondary school, especially because of the planned computer room.

The six classrooms have tiled floors and plasterboard ceilings.
Nine teachers from the normal secondary school and a librarian also work for the advanced secondary school.
